Amigo is a relatively new, American e cig design company operating out of Arizona. They do not run a brick-and-mortar store or sell goods online to individual customers, but if you are a wholesale consumer running your own online or street level vape shop, check out their prices and their gear. One of the latest items from the Amigo Vapor catalogue is their Riptide Subohm Tank.

Amigo Riptide Tank

The website appears to show two versions: one for up to 50 watts and another for vape mods operating at up to 100 watts. That could be the result of different coils or a recent upgrade, but in both instances you are still going only as low as 0.3 ohms. This is a perfect accessory for anyone seeking to celebrate vaping with big clouds.

Perfect Device for the Riptide

The Riptide might have been made with Amigo’s FP50 e cig battery in mind. They fit neatly together, thanks to matching width and compatible power level. Since the FP50 is a 50-watt battery, it is an obvious choice: fit the Riptide and operate at 0.3 ohms or anything up to 3 ohms, which just happens to be that mod’s resistance range as well.

I guess Amigo Vapor really did design these two products to be used together. Design and testing take place in Phoenix, Arizona, but presumably their products are manufactured somewhere else judging by wording. My bet is China.

Other Compatible Devices

There are loads of vape mods which the Amigo Riptide could potentially work with: an Eleaf iStick 20, 30, or 50W, the MVP Pro 60W, a Kanger Subox, virtually any sub-ohm vape mode if it isn’t rated for more than 100W (such as the iPV3 Li 200W upgrade). Check out the lower-level box mods and some of the high-functioning APVs like an eVic Supreme or an Aspire CF. It’s funny, but I notice some similarities between Amigo and Aspire.

More Details of the Riptide Rebuildable Tank by Amigo

Amigo opted to install BVC coils made from American wire. The BVC system is also used by Aspire and stands for Bottom Vertical Coil. Vapers and manufacturers have discovered this improves the flavor of e juice vapor and makes it easier to vape thick e liquids such as the heavy-vegetable glycerin dripping varieties commonly preferred by advanced consumers.

If you own both tanks or switch from one to the other, the coils for both of them work with the Aspire or the Riptide. Amigo Vapor’s FP50 will also put you in mind of the Aspire CF battery, but the FP50 comes in different colors.
