At first there was just Joyetech and their eGrip. Soon, as experts predicted, major companies in the vaping industry came out with their own versions. There is even a pre-filled vape mod system available. What special features does each mod possess to make it original and compete with the others?
Kanger Dripbox

This “squonker” mod, another all-in-one, is like an upside-down dripper. You can fill the Subdrip RDA before vaping or squirt e juice into the atomizer from below using the easy-squeeze bottle. It’s unusual and not really an all-in-one unit because the tank is not inside the box.
The 7-ml squonker bottle containing e juice is not an atomized tank. Only the Subdrip RDA, however, will fit with the Dripbox because of their unique relationship. The Dripmod operates at a consistent output of 60W using 0.2-ohm Subdrip coils and the 18650-rated battery is removable.

The First, the Joyetech eGrip
The Joyetech eGrip started the trend with their one-piece device. The tank is enclosed within a frame but a cut-out portion exposes the juice level within. This tank has a 3.6-ml capacity, a replaceable coil, and a removable mouthpiece.
The first eGrip was adjustable to 20W. Later versions offered more power, temperature control vaping, and/or a screen depending on the model. Adjustments are made by turning a knurled dial which surrounds the power button.
Like any rebuildable sub ohm tank, the one inside an eGrip offers airflow adjustment, while refilling is a breeze with the side-mounted valve. Inside the mod your battery is all ready to get going. Recharge it via USB.

Kanger NEBOX

This is more like an eGrip; a box mod with a built-in tank but, like the Dripbox, with a removable cell (sold separately) instead of a built-in battery. The tank uses stainless steel organic cotton vertical coils. It holds 10 ml which is more than any other vape tank. Choose 0.5-ohm SSOCC or Nickel SSOCC coils for 0.15-ohm TC vaping.

Aspire Plato
Finally, we have the 50W Plato with TC function and coils from the Cleito. Use this device with Nautilus coils alternatively and change the size of the tank too. Its larger configuration is 5.6 ml with Nautilus coils. Airflow control and two refill points are also featured in this well-organized, multi-purpose tank for mouth or lung inhalations.
A 2500mAh cell is included but can be swapped with a comparable 18650 cell when recharging is required. Although this is one way to go, it’s possible to plug into a USB outlet and charge while vaping at the same time; a function known as pass-through vaping.

Digirette Disposable
The Digirette is not entirely disposable: the mod portion with a built-in 2000mAh cell is rechargeable. Vape tanks, however, are non-refillable. They contain 5 ml of American e juice in one of 10 flavors and two strengths: either 5 mg of nicotine per/ml or zero nicotine.
The system uses a single button, is non-adjustable, and the tank is enveloped by the mod. Digirette needs to release more information about their tank, such as what it’s made of, so we can pass that along to readers but the basic idea is a cross between a sub ohm vape mod and a cigalike starter kit.

All in All
Kanger’s and Aspire’s devices feature replaceable batteries which are ideal for portable, wireless vaping. The eGrip’s built-in cell, however, makes for a fully self-contained unit. While it’s great to be able to vape and charge, it’s even better when you are given the choice to remove cells and charge them independently, but that requires designers to incorporate more moving pieces and makes the device potentially bulkier. All of the units listed above are compact compared with virtually every vaping system where a tank must be added.
Digirette is the most unusual in this list because of the disposable element. While e juice is US-made, it is not a gourmet brand vapers are familiar with yet. It’s possible their various flavors will catch on the way Halo’s e juice caught the imaginations of many vapers, whether they had used Halo e cigs or not. Only time will tell.
Their disposable system is enclosed, so there aren’t the issues with spit-back and leaking which assail consumers of RBAs, but also no mention of how hot the mouthpiece could become or adjustable airflow. Coil replacements cost a pretty penny so, even though replacements of the Digirette tank cost $6.95 each, it is possible you don’t pay that much more for the privilege of having a pre-filled tank at your disposal when you consider the money you won’t spend to replace atomizer coils or broken tanks.
