SMOK’s TF-RTA pairing, the G4 and G2 RTAs, are ideal for confident vapers who know what to do with a build deck. They are designed with DIY coil-building activities in mind and feature a number of elements to enable easy rebuilds.
While the TFV4 rebuildable atomizer might be a better known unit, the TF-RTA is sure to satisfy a large crowd of enthusiastic and skilled vapers if you want to give coil building a chance. Add a coil building kit to your order and prepare to learn more coil wrapping skills.
SMOK TF-RTA G2
Whatever I write here about the G2 is also applicable to the G4 except for one thing: their coils are different. Otherwise, pictures of the G2 and G4 appear remarkably alike because the differences are not visible after a cursory look. The TF-RTA G4 contains a pre-built 0.14-ohm element while the G2 is rated for 0.45 ohms. You’re going to wrap heating elements to your personal specifications, however, so this is just a place to start.
Although this is a product suited to people who build their own coils, try the tank with its existing options in order to get the feel of it before creating your own heating element configuration from the many possible designs and assorted types of wire for Variable Watt and Temperature Control activity, from low watts to 200W.
Velocity Deck
The TF-RTA G2 and G4 utilize a velocity deck which creates a lot out of vapor. This deck is very wide: 16 mm across. There is plenty of space to work; a comfortable amount of space, something you can’t always say about rebuild decks. The RBA on a TFV4 is not as convenient a place to build coils although the TFV4 is still a great product.
E Juice Control
Have some say over the way e juice and the coil interact. Let e liquid into the coil more slowly or allow it to flood the cotton all at once. These approaches lead to different results in flavor and vapor production.
Just to be sure you do not experience leaks, O-rings block the way. Your device is also filled from the top, ridding vapers of the dreaded refill drama. You no longer have to go through long-winded preparations to keep e juice from spilling onto surfaces or to mop up drips; you barely have to think about it ahead of time.
Now you can keep your mod upright, drip e juice under the swivel top, and get back to vaping in just 60 seconds. That’s great considering the TF-RTA G2 and G4 will use up e juice more rapidly when they are attached to high-output Variable Watt and Temperature Control systems. With that rebuild deck, just about any power level is suitable including 200W or 572F vaping with SMOK, Sigelei, Tesla, Joyetech, and other manufacturers’ devices.
Big Dimensions
For a dripping tank this is an excellent size. The base measures 24.5 mm and it stands 65 mm tall. Such figures suggest the TF-RTA G2 or G4 would suit a high-watt mod better than a mini device. Think 100W to 200W rather than devices under 80W. Anything under 100 watts is usually too narrow to comfortably accommodate anything wider than a 22-mm RTA.
More Thoughts
China’s SMOKTECH vape manufacturing company used stainless steel and glass to create a clean look and an equally clean experience about their Rebuildable Tank Atomizer. Receive the style of your choice (TF-RTA G2 or G4) complete with a pre-installed coil, deck, and spare parts.
