The latest release from China’s SMOK e cig manufacturing company has me thinking about iPhones and tablets. When does a person say “I’ll just wait for the next technological update before buying my new gear” instead of purchasing the next best thing to come along?
How many times will vapers replace their mods as manufacturers continue to alter features? Couldn’t these companies just wait a little while and introduce a whole bunch of new and exciting features at the same time?
I guess that would be self-defeating and damage profits, or maybe manufacturers think vapers have such short attention spans they’ll forget about a brand name if they aren’t quick to release something new every week. Admittedly, there is a lot of distracting competition out there and the SMOK H-PRIV will have brands like Sigelei and Kanger scrambling to keep up.

What’s new and exciting about the H-PRIV? SMOK’s new mod can be set to 220 watts. Combined with the Micro TFV4, function is set to be efficient and satisfying while aesthetically appealing at the same time. A long red scalene triangle (three different angles and sides different lengths) on the mod is particularly eye catching and sets a geometric, energetic tone.

That geometric shape also takes the place of a firing button. Just press the triangle. The X-Cube features a similarly discrete firing mechanism but in a different shape. Atop the mod, just above the firing button, are slim adjustment switches for turning output up or down.
An H-PRIV is designed to feel soft in spite of its shiny appearance and box-like structure. It will sit neatly, comfortably in the palm of a vaper’s hand. That paint job features improved resistance to wear too and comes in black, silver, or white, contrasting with a red power button every time.
Sensible Battery Bank Design
Remove and replace the H-PRIV batteries (sold separately) in order to recharge a spent one and get started again with a fresh battery. The cover is made from injection molding and contains little holes to let out heat.
Magnets hold it in place over your cells as the door slides into its station at the bottom of the H-PRIV. Terminals, plated in 24k gold, produce excellent conductivity and stability while insulation improves safety.
Other safeguards against short circuit and overheating are supplied courtesy of a sophisticated chipset. You are guarded against low voltage, over-vaping, and low resistance. The chip monitors your puffs too.
Wattage and Temperature Controls
This set also allows consumers to choose a temperature or wattage level. Adjust temperature from 200F to as much as 600F and, when you are in Temperature Control mode, the chip will support 0.08 ohms minimum resistance.
Switch to the VW setting and non-TC coils for a range of 0.1 to 3.0 ohms. Read all the details on a clear square OLED screen mounted at the top of the device. This displays puffs, battery power, wattage, temperature, and warnings if they apply.
Paired to Perfection
Team the SMOK H-PRIV with SMOK’s famous Micro TFV4 tank featuring a versatile array of pre-built coils choices plus a rebuild deck. Examples include the CLP2 (Clapton) 0.3-ohm and a 0.1-ohm Ni200 coil.
The tank comes with replacement glass and an adapter for extending the tank reservoir but is also refillable from the top for the highest level of convenience. Adjust airflow via the top or bottom cap.
Since the Micro TFV4 has been out for a while and is highly popular, you might already have one. Now all you need to do is keep the same tank but experiment with assorted temperature-sensitive and regular coil materials and builds. Replace O-rings once in a while to ensure that caps don’t leak e juice and also to change the color scheme so it matches or deliberately conflicts with that of your H-PRIV.
