Geekvape, makers of the Griffin, have now released their Avocado 24 RDTA.

Why “24?” It’s not version 24, but the number is a reference to sizing as is often the case. Geekvape could have called this the Avocado V2, but it’s not a new make of their Avocado but an alternative size.

The Avocado 24 RDTA is a wide-based dripping tank with big capacity. Here are some other features of the Geekvape Avocado 24 RDTA.

Rebuildable Dripping Tank Atomizer

As the abbreviation suggests, Geekvape combines the function of a dripping atomizer with the convenience of a rebuildable tank in their Avocado. They provide a large Velocity-type 2-post deck for rebuilding coils, 4-mm wick ports, and a 5-ml tank.

Their system supplies quick e juice flow to prevent dry hits. A cap at the top unhinges to expose a dripping portal for refills at the top of the tank. Push this back in and lock it to cover the hole, but always be sure airflow valves are shut before you refill.

Establish customized airflow control from 2 slots measuring 7 x 2 mm each. A pair of 2-mm ceramic adapters for single coil builds is also included, so you choose single or dual coil arrangements. The adapters also feature air holes for more vapor production.

Acid-resistant Glass

Geekvape chose to construct their tube from silica glass, a reinforced style which is highly heat-tolerant and also resistant to acid. Since you won’t be vaping acid, why should that matter? It matters for two reasons.

For one thing, many e liquids contain flavorings which crack plastic or cheap glass. Secondly, if you’re the sort who likes to clean glass with natural ingredients, you could be using lemon juice to clean the tube. Rest assured you’ll achieve the desired effect without causing any damage.

Reinforced Screws

Geekvape also makes sure your caps will stay on nice and tight and that screws won’t succumb to corrosion following months of washing or exposure to a humid climate. Their screws, made from 316 Stainless Steel, are also reinforced with Nitrogen.

Discrete Delrin

The base is insulated with PEEK material from the USA, installed for optimum protection so your drip tip doesn’t feel the heat. Geekvape supplies two tips with both the small and large versions of their Avocado, one wider than the other.

510-threading makes them compatible with other tanks or vice versa. The 24 RDTA base is also 510-threaded and the connection pin is adjustable, so this tank is compatible with basically every variable watt, variable temperature mod there is.

Last Words about the Avocado

Another version of the Avocado measures just 22 mm across and holds 3 ml of e juice and would look lovely atop an 18650 mechanical mod or one of the slim builds of VW devices released by Pioneer4You or Eleaf. The 24-mm tank holds more e liquid and covers more space but is a visually suitable addition to a wide mod, such as a 150W or 200W example.

Don’t pair it with a svelte unit; it will overlap. As far as height goes, Geekvape keeps a very low profile at 33 mm plus 10 mm for the drip tip. The Avocado 24 RDTA is available in silver. The boxed kit contains another reinforced glass tube, some spare parts, and an Allen key.

If I had to compare the visual elements of an Avocado with any mod, I would choose the Eleaf LYCHE which is similarly weighted with more metal in the top cap. Performance-wise, the Avocado works like other Genesis tanks but the deck makes rebuilding easier.

Grand Vapor’s Prometheus and the Kraken by Vicious Ant are two more examples. The velocity style deck seen here is also becoming popular. Features include lots of deck space, dual vertical coils, and accommodation for big coils, so it’s easy to create DIY builds.

I would recommend this RDTA for a DIY coil-building beginner or for someone with experience who’s tired of cramming their fingers and coils onto a tiny deck.
