There is another new box mod in town, the Aspire NX75. It is a mid-range vaporizer with Variable Watt and Temp Control capabilities sold in four colors for about $50. There is nothing stunningly different about its shape; no modern-art gimmicks to proclaim.
Aspire does, however, add some new features to the box mod form. Pair the NX75-Z with an EVO, Aspire’s latest sub ohm tank, and you will have designed a winning combination.
The Aspire NX75-Z Box Mod
As names go, there is something catchy about the title of this latest release. Letters and numbers don’t usually roll off the tongue. The name Aspire chose is probably a reference to the internal chip and maximum wattage. Companies like Yihi and Evolv often simplify the naming process by using these two parts, but “iStick,” “Fuchai,” and “Mini Book” are also very memorable.
While 75 watts is your maximum output, you aren’t tied to that; play with wattage to find your vapor sweet spot. It’s nice to have options even if you don’t push to the edges of your boundaries.
Externally, a zinc frame supplies the durability you need for daily living to protect batteries and electronics, but zinc is also light. That is what you want to hear when shopping for a portable box mod (Go here for our top picks). Aspire supplies special edition aluminum and CNC versions as well and customers can select red, white, black, or stainless steel as their exterior finish.
Chipset Chatter
Aspire’s control chip is customizable. It allows vapers to change the wattage, choose TCR or TC as the setting, and to alter temp through a 400-degree range of 200F to 600F. All of this information will be displayed on the screen, also operated by that chipset. Measuring at just under 0.9 inches, the display is generous for a small device.
Control Buttons
Usually, there are 3 buttons on a variable mod for power and adjustment. Aspire provides a 5-button variable vaping device. Consequently, the interface featured along one narrow side appears different from others.
A big square power button sits at the top. Adults with children or who spend a lot of time with nieces and nephews can lock the NX75-Z vape mod against the curiosity of little ones or even older children who know a bit too much about how electronics are operated.
Two rectangular buttons sit side-by-side above and then again below the screen. Select a setting for stainless steel, titanium, or Nickel 200 coils. Choose from a trio of personally stored settings. A single removable 18650 battery, not included with the set, is accessed via the back door of this geometrically-shaped unit.

Why Aspire Thinks This is Different
Aspire believes their NX75-Z is a better device, in spite of its box-like shape and relatively low 75W power feature. They claim it offers superior accuracy and customization, making the NX75-Z more intuitive.
As for a 75W limit, the average vaper won’t even set a mod that high. It’s the Aspire name that will attract them plus compact dimensions of 75 x 22 x 35 mm. Adjust the logo to make a stylish statement of your own and set up customizable firing button profiles or CFBP as Aspire calls them.
Look for firmware upgrades in the near future too, accessible using a tiny USB port on one side of the box. A cable is supplied plus a silicone case to keep your mod looking good and to protect that shiny finish.
