The newest eVic is not a big change from their previous eVic VT, the variable temperature mod that changed the eVic’s look from a tube to a box. Joyetech’s eVic VTwo doubles up on one thing: protection. A few other items made their way to the R&D agenda too, so look closely and decide if improvements featured here are enough to make you crave an upgrade.

Joyetech EVic VTwo Black and Red

Vtwo vs. the VT Mini

Joye’s eVic VTC Mini is already listed in various forms, including 60 watts and 75 watts with the effective Cubis or Tron as a starter kit. Visually, they all look alike, sharing the family resemblance in their shape, the lovely screen, and assorted choices of color.

The eVic VTwo is an upgradeable device but so were the eVic VTC and the eVic Supreme. You plugged a cord between your mod and the computer to update firmware. That has not changed, thank goodness; adding more features is still as easy as ever.

Modes

The eVic VTwo provides a long list of possible settings. Choose RTC (Real Time Clock), Bypass, Variable Watt, Variable Temperature, or Temperature Coefficient of Resistance. The clock can be shown as a digital time keeper or an analog clock displaying Roman numerals at 3, 6, 9, and 12 o’clock. On a large OLED display the Roman-style analog is really attractive.

Activation

Make the eVic VTwo work for you by pressing a rounded black firing button placed above the OLED screen and below a twist-style adjustment dial. Mounted at the very top next to Joye’s 510-threaded atomizer well, this is often Joye’s preferred style of varying values as opposed to pressing buttons. You see it on their eGrip too but set around the power button.

Higher Power

Joye allows vapers to set their eVic VTwo as high as 80 watts, the new winner where their eVic VT line is concerned. In the Variable Watt setting at 80 watts you can achieve 0.15 ohms with a suitable coil but the VT setting and TCR enable vapers to install 0.05-ohm coils safely. You can say that with even more confidence, thanks to improvements to eVic safeguards.

Double Defense

Joyetech safeguards your battery as usual, but they double their defense against common battery problems with a dual battery protection system. This is the biggest improvement to their firmware; more important than being able to display the Joyetech logo on your big OLED screen or change from an analog time keeper to a digital clock.

You are doubly protected against over-charge, over-discharge, and over-current. If the machine has stopped an electronic catastrophe from taking place, the event will show up on the display and you can read exactly what took place, in case you have to do something like recharge the battery or replace an atomizer coil because resistance is outside the boundaries established by firmware.

From Below

Sometimes, simple protective measures are effective too like letting the heat out through little vent holes at the bottom. This is also where vapers will see a small hole called the re-set button. Use this if you are upgrading the mod online and suddenly this process stops due to a power cut or interruption to internet service. Push a pin through here to start again.

Simple Style

The eVic VT and VTwo are both just boxes, really, yet Joye bestows them with vigor. Enjoy a selection of possible colors including Burgundy and Racing Yellow.
