A new battery by Joyetech has a lot in common with a sub ohm vape mod, but it also shares features in common with eGo “spinner” or “twist” devices. This could be the compromise vapers have been looking for between something that looks like a cigarette but only larger and with more capacity.

It is so easy to use that no vaper, no matter how new to e cigs, is far away from being able to use the Joyetech eGo Mega Twist+.

The Battery

This is a single-button device with a built-in cell you recharge via USB. Joyetech makes it in silver, black, blue, burgundy, white, and orange so you can add color to your vaping experience. The twist portion of this cell is much like that of an eGo Twist or the Vision Spinner.

A dial is featured on the bottom portion of the cell where wattage levels are listed. Pick one and dial your way to it, something from 5W to 30W. You can also select Bypass mode instead. There isn’t the precision of a variable watt box mod with a screen, but at least you can regulate output.

Since the battery measures 22 mm wide, there is more room around the base to label wattage and mode than you are accustomed to seeing on other “twist” batteries which enhances the user-friendliness of Joye’s latest release. Power amounts to 2300mAh, sufficient for the full day, so plug it in every night and you should never have midday recharge woes.

Charging Light

The single button is a square at the top of this cell framed by a light. This changes color according to your mode and is solid when the charge is full or nearly full. As the battery’s voltage level starts to decrease, flashing starts. At first it’s slow, but the pace speeds up as you lose more and more power. Recharge the battery over and over via USB; there’s a lot of life in this battery.

Protected Battery

A smart chip lives inside the eGo Mega Twist+ battery. This chip provides dual circuit protection which enhances its ability to prevent short circuit and overcharging, etc. It might look like a low-powered by chunky eGo, but a lot can go wrong with a 2300mAh, 99 mm long, 30W battery. Imagine installing a tank with too little resistance or too much: there could be some smoke in your vapor.

The chip also detects resistance and accepts a reading between 0.2 and 3.5 ohms. Enjoy sub ohm vaping without buying a bulky, boxy vape mod. This is more portable and sleek. Since there’s only one button and no screen, a Mega eGo Twist+ is clean and smooth to look at.

Accessorize with Joyetech

Joye also makes a tank called the Cubis Pro which they consider to be a perfect match for their Mega eGo Twist+ battery. The Cubis Pro looks something like a helmet with a large visor cut out of a stainless steel sleeve and the same selection of colors as the battery.

There are three types of heads for the Cubis Pro: an LVC, QCS, and Notched head. Airflow is located at the top and in the bottom is a leak-proof cup design. This atomizer tank fits the diameter of the Mega eGo Twist+.
