I hope you are not already signed up to buy a bunch of vape mods on the pre-release menu at a vape store. Another one joins them for pre-order, one from Council of Vapor, and it is likely among the more expensive of those other mods on the pre-release menu.
This is their new 200W Tempest box mod. The Council of Vapor Tempest provides high power with removable batteries and also a small form that will make it easier to vape wherever you go.
Council of Vapor Tempest Mod
I relate the shape of this new high-watt box mod to a flask because it features the straight narrow sides and rounded wide parts (convex). A whiskey flask looks a little like this but does not hold e juice. Nor does the Tempest, for that matter.
It just provides the power necessary for vaporizing e liquid from a tank or RDA set on top. Council of Vapor makes a number of those accessories too if you want to find a fitting match. They tend to find their way to top-ten lists but aren’t as affordable as some others. You could call them boutique or luxury products.
Tempest Spec
The Shakespearean name is suggestive of unpredictability and variability. In the case of this particular Tempest, you should experience the latter but not the former. It will be too well made to behave unpredictably, although vapers are sometimes inconsistent. Choose your perfect storm: a setting from the range of 1 to 200 Watts.
No mention is made of temperature control although I would be surprised if you could not vary temperature. This is virtually standard these days. Some firms like to rebel though because they know not everyone needs or wants more options than are absolutely necessary.
Varying Temperature?
Then again, varying the temp gives you an option to preserve battery power and see your mod behave more economically. It is considered a measure of protection against overheating also. Instead you get something called RAMP mode, probably like powerful/medium/soft pre-settings found on other mods. These allow you to select power without deciding on a precise setting.
Design of the Tempest
As far as looks go, this one is dark which befits a tempestuous temperament. Select a dark one in black or a silver one, nothing cheerful in colors or even a light offering in white. Carbon fiber accents the mod on its wide face where fingers will go but not on the edge your palm will be holding which is made from brushed metal in this case.
The result is modern and aesthetically pleasing but perhaps not as comfortable as it could be. I like the contrast of textures; just not its application which seems wasted in this case. At least sides are rounded to make for fairly comfortable long-term gripping and buttons are placed out of the way of your fingers with that bright screen you need.
Council of Vapor chose round, flat, raised buttons making a change from constantly changing button designs that become gimmicky and silly. I like the clean metal; the straight-forward arrangement and shape of these three switches surrounding the OLED display.
Removable Batteries
I assume these cells come out. Why else would they be listed as three 18650 batteries? Otherwise, you would see mention of a built-in triple cell or one which the manufacturer could replace for you upon request.
Removing batteries is much better for safety (they get a chance to really cool down) and for convenience because you are able to swap cells as long as you have put some away which are already charged and ready to go into the mod.
In this case, continue vaping anywhere, not tied to a computer or waiting for internal cells to recharge via USB. You don’t need pass-through vaping; just efficiency and the highest level of safety that is available to a responsible, experienced vaper and Council of Vapor fan.
