Simplicity goes a long way when vapers are overwhelmed with technology. There can be too much choice or too many ideas. What about a tank that takes away a lot of the complexity and gives you a device that is just simple and easy to use effectively?
The OBS Ace could very well be that tank.
Top-fill System
All you have to do in order to refill e juice in your RBA is to slide the top away. There are no fancy latches; no unscrewing of the atomizer and mod from each other or undoing the bottom cap to access the tube.
This tank is described as “discrete” by some vendors but they are probably talking about e juice refilling from the side. This part doesn’t stick out like a big gaping hole. The valve is functional and user-friendly, not an after-thought but an important aspect of the overall build.
Clean Heating System
Ceramics are well known for their cleanliness and ability to retain heat. Why haven’t they been in use for longer to heat up e juice? Vaporizers for other materials such as dried herbs often utilize this neutral medium in order to create clean, clear vapor and excellent flavor.
It’s about time the e juice industry caught up, and now that they have, you might never go back to a regular, short-lived coil. The ceramic coil contains a Kanthal coil and lasts for weeks, maybe even months.
Ace Airflow Control
There are 6 adjustable airflow valves in total, balanced three on either side. They can be closed completely if you wish. There is also a pair of 2 x 12 mm dual bottom air holes. Air is necessary to create vapor, so don’t worry about the draft.
Consumers can also control the flow of e juice so as to fully saturate or lightly wet the ceramic coil and change the flavor profile of your e liquid. When it’s a complex variety by Five Pawns or Space Jam, you know what I mean when I talk about layers.
Pre-installed Coil
The OBS Ace arrives with a pre-installed coil rated at 0.85 ohms. This is good enough for vaping at 25 watts to 45 watts. Although other levels are alright and you will not hurt the tank or the mod by turning up the output, 25W to 45W is the range where tests determined e juice tasted best and vapor production was at its highest.
There is also a sturdy two-post deck to work with if you enjoy building your own coils. Select a VW unit in the low range such as the iStick 40W or operate a Sigelei Mini Book below its maximum level.
Gold Plating
Metals conduct electricity but some metal types are more conductive than others. Gold is a great electrical conductor which is why the OBS Ace uses a gold-plated pin to connect with your mod, whatever device that might be, as long as it is 510-threaded. For best visual results, pair this with a 22-mm tube mod or add it to a slender box mod.
Tall Mod
Although the tank is 22 mm wide, it holds as much as 4.5 ml of e liquid, so there is no avoiding the height issue here. You won’t create a compact figure when this is added to a vape mod, even a small one, with that tall tip.
