Introduce yourself to a new 200W, Evolv powered vaporizer: the SMY SDNA 200W Mod.
Its shape is more pillar-like than boxy although that is only relative: it is not super skinny or especially large.
If you have never held a box mod before, these are very small devices, something that comes across best if you see a photo of someone holding a vaporizer. You might be surprised at how little they really are although attaching an atomizer adds quite a bit to their length.
Details of the SMY SDNA 200w Mod
So far there is not a ton of information about the device as this is a new release from SMY. The DNA 200W chip isn’t brand new anymore: Evolv released that a little while ago so there are lots of examples on the market (Hana Modz, for instance) and plenty of information and reviews to look up.
If you are familiar with those mods, you know many of the most common features of this device. The biggest difference between all Evolv-powered mods is aesthetics, not performance.
Otherwise, the 3-cell Lithium Polymer battery is familiar to all DNA 200W mods: it is a powerful cell offering 1600 mAh at 11.1v. There is a beautifully bright OLED screen courtesy of your chip and the safety elements you have come to expect from Evolv chips. Your machine will protect you against short-circuit, low voltage, low-resistance, and other hazards. Overheating is one of the biggest concerns and that is covered by the SMY mod.
Temperature Control Box Mod
SMY’s new vaporizer comes equipped with temperature control (TC). It will operate at between 200 and 600 degrees Fahrenheit: the standard variation. Anything higher and the SMY SDNA will reduce watts to cool its core down.
Set your device to TC mode and this gives you the opportunity to use a lower-ohm coil. Atomizers are really pushing resistance, getting to below 0.1 ohms which seemed like a really low value when it was first available.
Operate in TC mode and attach a 0.08-ohm coil which will have to be a temperature-sensitive product: Nickel 200 or Titanium. Choose variable watt mode and 0.1 ohms is your limit. This is not a big change but vapers can tell the difference.
Four Possible Modes
There are four modes to choose from: power locked, locked, temperature control, and stealth mode. In stealth mode, the screen goes dark so your device is even more discrete although its shady colors make it pretty easy to conceal.
Strangely, there are still consumers who are confused when they see people operating vaporizers, but they are becoming increasingly recognizable to the general public.
More Features
Another feature from Evolv is the pre-heat function. Your mod is more efficient this way. There is also a small USB port situated beneath the two small control buttons which are next to the screen. This was installed so you can recharge your 3-cell battery without taking it out. Plug into an adapter or use your laptop to replenish power. The power button is a flat-top circle.
What Do You Pay for an SMY SDNA 200W Mod?
SMY’s mod is brand new and Evolv’s chip is high-quality, so these two factors combine to make a higher-priced device. You’re going to pay around $115 to $120 at least, and that’s without the atomizer attached.
Batteries are pre-installed, however, which would account for $20 or more otherwise. With TC mode, you want to find an atomizer that operates at very low ohms with Ni or Ti coils (pre-built or an RBA head.)
