Most tanks were not designed for performance at 200 watts and super sub-ohm performance: 0.2, 0.1, and even 0.05 ohms, for instance. Their designers never had dripping e juice in mind or cloud-chasing vape mod fans. The entire sub-ohm line came along in the past year or so with constant innovation and upgrades following early releases. It didn’t take long for each new tank to come out in a “Version 2.” Although choices are slim where 200 watt Rebuildable Tank Atomizers are concerned, there is enough very good product selection to keep everyone happy.
Top 5 Brands of Tanks
The best 200 watt tanks are made by the same people you would expect, at least these days. For every accessory (batteries, tanks, mods, and chargers) there are “best examples.” However, when it comes to sub-ohm vape tanks, Horizon has snuck past Kanger and the like to become a sleeper hit.
Finding top tanks is no easy matter: the internet barely recognizes the notion of a 200W vape tank. An easy way to locate a high-watt tank is to view what vape stores recommend when you buy a 200W box mod. Aspire will rise to the surface once more. Don’t forget UD, a long-time provider of quality products for vapers. SMOK and Kanger, two reliable names, also make it to the top 5.
About $50 buys you a kit with an RBA head and two types of pre-built coils for this unique tank. The top swivels open so vapers can refill from the top. This is the hassle-free, tidy choice compared with traditional bottom-fill tanks. The quad coil lets you go right up to high watts, but it is the RBA head which frees vapers to go as high as they want. Of course, all of the tanks listed here are made from stainless steel and glass; otherwise, they could not handle the heat. SMOK’s top tank measures 73.5 mm and holds 5 ml.

2. Horizon Arctic

Their BTDC coil was designed to draw air in from below and improve the flavor of your vapor. Now the Horizon Arctic is among vapers’ favorite RTAs. Drip about 2.5 ml into this tank which is packaged with organic cotton, USA-made Kanthal coils. This is not what you want for your 200W box mod though: you are going to need the Ni200. That way it can be used with a DNA 200 like the HCigar VT200 or Volcano Lavabox (also 200W).

3. Aspire Triton 2
This is one of the most recommended tanks for vapers of high watts but the RTA kit is sold separately. Buy one: you will need it for high watt builds. The 3.5-ml Triton’s filament is made from Surgical Grade Steel. It comes wit 0.4-ohm and 1.8-ohm coils for days when you dial a mod to just 50W.

4. UD Zephyrus
Again, the entire package is all about quality here, and that’s what you need when temperatures are reaching as much as 600F. That’s enough to seriously undermine inferior-quality parts, but UD’s been in this game too long to make the mistake of cheaping-out on their sub-ohm RTA. This is a well-constructed piece but, again, Ni200 coil is sold separately. Adjust airflow and temperature until you get just the right mixture of air and heat.

5. Kanger Subtank Plus Ni200 Version
Kanger makes the only tank featuring black-coated stainless steel plus glass for a change on the usual appearance of RTAs. They also feature multiple atomizer heads: horizontal, vertical, and a rebuildable head. A 7-ml tank, Ni200 format, comes with these temperature-sensitive coils for your convenience.
While it was designed for use with the Kanger Subox, this tank will work well with any DNA 200 like a Hana Modz DNA200 or the EFusion by Lost Vapor.
