Nitecore is one of the top-rated chargers for vape batteries, but the Efest Pro C4 charger is also touted as a good device with quality features, sold by some of the top vape retailers. If you are looking for a compact battery charger without fancy features at a low price, this could be the one.
Simple Electronics
A lot of gear from Efest, Nitecore, and others utilizes a screen to indicate the charge level of each battery. There are several chargers designed to accommodate batteries of multiple sizes. You can even see this at Efest’s website where they show units with adjustable connectors and up to 6 cells charging at one time. The Efest PRO C4 Charger doesn’t supply a lot of extras and is only made for one sort of battery.
Protected 18650
Retailers recommend saving the Efest PRO C4 Charger for recharging only Lithium Ion batteries which contain a control circuit. These are also known as PCB batteries. The circuit board is prepared to prevent a short circuit if you put one or more of these cells into a mod and the atomizer’s resistance is too low or something else threatens to cause damage to circuitry which might wreck your machine or worse.
The devastation a mistreated battery can produce is terrifying. All vapers must know they are playing with a mini chemistry set here and should treat their systems respectfully.
Four Batteries
Install up to 4 of the same size batteries in the charger; Efest makes their own 18650 cells to fit, but this is not a proprietary machine. Batteries are installed negative side down. You will know when a cell is replenished fully by the green light that glows above it. If you put a cell in the wrong way around, this Efest charger just won’t do anything with that item.
Other Types of Machines
Generally, a mod kit does not come with a charger or batteries; you have to pick up your own. When you do that, there are several types of batteries and chargers available. Many cells contain Lithium Manganese and are not protected because Li-Mn is considered safe chemistry.
Numerous consumers choose these cells as advised by vendors and e cig manufacturers for their high-watt, temperature control devices. Check the design of your mod before purchasing protected batteries as they might not fit.
Battery chargers typically have space for at least two batteries. The really high-tech ones feature a display screen and the ability to scroll through to see where each battery is at. They recharge batteries independently, so one will finish charging but another keeps on going at its own pace.
Buying Batteries and Chargers
Vape experts recommend taking at least as much time to research this topic as one would allow for researching mods and tanks. A great device can be ruined by a cell with too low amperage or made more dangerous by a high temperature rating.
