Previous versions of the iSub by Chinese vape manufacturer Innokin were made from polycarbonate (PC). Granted, this was the latest PC; a more durable material considered suitable for highly acidic e liquids and almost as neutral as glass, but not quite. Purists want nothing to do with synthetic materials.
Why Glass?
Vapers are concerned that high temperatures will release gases from their clearomizers or tanks if they are made from acrylic, plastic, or PC. Besides, at the highest level, vapers are operating high-watt, high-temperature box mods capable of up to 200W and 600F: the chance of vaporizing more than the e juice in your tank is pretty good if materials are not up to scratch. There is enough uncertainty out there and not enough research, so Innokin went back to the drawing board.

Release the Glass
Innokin must have decided their original iSub tank was not making the impression it should have; that customers were either unconvinced or they had experienced strange flavors from their less breakable colored iSub Tank. Innokin is always up to a challenge and they have recently added the iSub G to the huge list of products they carry. “G” in this case does not stand for “Grand,” or “Giant,” but “Glass.”
Specifications of Innokin’s New Glass Tank
Fill the iSub G with as much as 4.5 ml of e liquid, preferably something worthy of a high-watt mod and sub-ohms. Attach it to a mod that handles 0.5-ohm resistance. Innokin used stainless steel for the caps and you will find adjustable airflow at the bottom. Open up wide for huge clouds.
Threading is compatible with 510-threaded vaporizers. That could be an Innokin device like the Disrupter, a SMOK BT mod, something by Sigelei (30, 50, or 100W), or perhaps an iStick from Eleaf. Innokin’s new Cool Fire 4 or the latest version of their iTaste MVP — the Pro 60W — would also work nicely with the iSub G rebuildable tank.
Innokin utilizes a vertical deep coil system which is a little different from other coils. When browsing for replacements, you will see there are many proprietary coil heads: this one only works the iSub and iSub G. Vertical coils supply excellent flavor and are also excellent when your preferred e juice brand is extremely viscous.
A Little Tip from Innokin
Without the drip tip, Innokin’s new tank measures 2″ x 7/8″. The tip is a no-nonsense item without stylization: modern and simple, which is a favorite style right now. You can always switch it for something with more shape or a different color.
Earning Good Reviews
The Innokin iSub G might be new, but it is already garnering numerous reviews and most of them are positive. The price is right and flavor produced by this tank is excellent. There are even reviews for their replacement coils which cost between $2 and $3 each. The kit costing about $22 comes with two 0.5-ohm Japanese organic cotton coils.
