V2 Cigs For The New Year

A subtle change in name could be leading you on an internet goose chase: V2 Cigs is becoming V2: no “Cigs” at the end or in the website address. That should be easy to remember since most people know the company by this shortened name anyway. After all, V2 Cigs doesn’t make cigarettes: they make electronic cigarettes.

Home Page

It’s always fun to explore a company’s home page and search for pros and cons. You can tell a lot about a business and products from a glance at this page alone which highlights featured items and points visitors in the right direction (if it’s done right).

The V2 landing page effectively points consumers towards vaporizers for use with wax and dry leaves, starter kits, their EX products, e liquids, and extras.

Idea Explosion

I sometimes wonder what the owners of V2 imagined for their brands when they got started almost ten years ago. Did they foresee such an explosion of products and options from their R&D department?

V2 has come quite far although the frenzied activity of summer 2014-to-summer 2015 has slowed down. I don’t sense overt competition between V2 and Vaporfi any longer.

Disposable E Cigs at V2

V2 continues their partnership with Zig-Zag, seen here in their selection of disposable (one-time) e cigs. These last for about the length of a “smoking” session, so a single pack of 5 could last you about 5 days. Each V2 Cigs or Zig-Zag disposable provides 400 puffs of vaping in one of two flavors: tobacco or menthol. Buying two or more 5-packs at a time is more economical than purchasing individual packages of 5: $19.46 as opposed to $38.47 (V2).

V2 Batteries

Select a battery style: Classic or EX. The standard battery measures 79 mm ($14.95) or 110 mm ($19.95), features a switch or switch-free operation, and provides from 2 to 4 hours or vaping at a time. Select from five colors. Size-wise, the EX is a compromise between them both, offers the same amount of puff time as a long battery, but uses a strip of attractive LED lights to indicate battery power. These lights are very pretty, like tiny jewels. Buy yours for $24.95.

Here’s the Problem

I can’t see myself paying $25 for a battery replacement. For that money, I could purchase an eGo with twice the power. I haven’t even added a cartridge yet and already I’m feeling robbed. The only up-side is that, as a loyal customer, I could have accumulated enough points to reduce the cost of my purchase substantially. We’ll talk more about that program later.

Starter Kits from V2

Take a little quiz and let V2 help you find a starter kit. Each one cuts the cost of your equipment somewhat, so you don’t pay what you would have been charged to order a battery, cartridges, and chargers. There are several options including your choice of 12 flavors, battery colors, and extras like a USB Cig or portable charger.

As a new vaper, you probably don’t know what to choose yet and how much to spend on a first rechargeable system when this is foreign territory. That V2 quiz will help, but here’s a tip: start with a disposable e cig and get a feel for vaping.

Once you know how that feels and are convinced it’s the right thing for you, think about your former smoking habits (these will become vaping habits). If you smoked socially but not at home or in the car, you can get away with a very small package like Standard Kit.

Keep a battery charged and ready all the time. If the car and your desk are the only places you vape, buy the V2 Power-Cig which plugs into a USB outlet. The only extra you’ll want is a car charging adapter if there isn’t an adapter built into your car’s console.

Heavy smokers will want to buy the E-Liquid kit and learn to refill e juice; otherwise, vaping is going to become expensive and you’ll be on the phone ordering more cartridges daily unless you learn to plan ahead.

Cartridges and E Liquid

V2 makes a series of 12 flavors and offers seasonal, limited edition flavors as well. Their standards are three types of tobacco, three mint or menthol types, and six gourmet e juices. Each flavor can be purchased as a pre-filled cartridge or e liquid to be dripped into an empty cartridge or a blank tank.

E juice is expensive if you keep on buying cartridges, but you can take advantage of bulk-buy savings for a more sensible non-smoking budget ($9.95 per five-pack becomes $7.95 if you order 80 at a time of the same flavor.) That’s as little as $1.59 per/ml. EX cartridges cost from $14.95 ($2.99 per/ml) to $12.95 ($2.59). Variety packs are also available.

E juice by the bottle, however, is far more economical. Pay $16.95 for 25 ml (68 cents) or $29.95 for 50 ml (60 cents). Even a bulk order of cartridges can’t beat that and blanks only cost $14.95 for three EX style clear or $7.95 for five V2 empty cartridges.

Loyalty Pays

So there you have it: the cost of becoming a vaper at V2 Cigs. I haven’t even delved into the realm of vaporizers which is a whole other ball game for ex-smokers or vapers of alternative materials. The 3-in-1 Pro Series lets you do everything with one vape pen using a magnetic connection system and automatic reading between parts.

As for the price of all this equipment, you could save money in one of several ways. I already mentioned bulk buying and starter kits. Another method is saving loyalty points which are automatically attributed to your account.

Also, consider becoming an affiliate and earning real money by promoting V2. You don’t sell: just direct people to your website where you talk about e cigs. Viewers find the V2 link there and go shopping while you reap rewards.
