Eleaf iSmoka’s Melo has entered a new phase as the mini tank for a 75W TC mod called the iStick Pico. Their Eleaf Melo III is also an independent agent, quite acceptable as an addition to any variable output mod including TC and VW devices as well as other iSticks and mods from competing companies.

The Melo III Mini Tank

This sub ohm tank is known as a “mini” because it holds just 2 ml of e juice, maximum. This is short, admittedly, considering how rapidly e juice is vaporized by the high settings of an adjustable mod like the iStick Pico. That`s why Eleaf uses a convenient filling feature.

Fill from the Top

This is not the first time Eleaf has gone to the trouble to make refilling easy with a top (or even side-fill) method but you really need it when there is so little room for e juice. Treat your tank like an RDA: drip regularly but not quite so often as with an RDA.

Detachable Features

Every part of the tank can be removed and washed or replaced. There are several parts: the bottom cap with airflow control; a top cap with top-fill accessibility; the tube and mouthpiece. This last part is not only removable but lined with an insulator called Delrin. Insulation prevents heat from escaping through the sides of your drip tip where the heat could burn a vaper`s lips.

Regularly clean the tank threads and glass. Although materials such as 304 Stainless Steel and glass are inert, a dirty tank will taint e juice and also make threads sticky. A clean tank glass sparkles prettily to show up your e juice which is rarely entirely clear. Choose any e juice you want. Tank crackers don`t have any effect on toughened glass.

Size of the Melo III Atomizer

Eleaf maintains a short profile for compact setups with their Melo III sub ohm tank. This mini tank is just 22 mm wide and 55 mm tall. That’s nothing in the vape world with tanks measuring more than 70 mm and wider than 24 mm. Other tanks given the nickname “mini” are also 22 mm in diameter, such as the Toptank Mini, but they really suit a mid-sized box mod and match the diameter of a regular-sized tube mod installed with an 18000-series battery.

Coils for the Eleaf Melo III Sub Ohm RBA

Eleaf supplies two heads with their newly fashioned tank: 0.3 ohms installed and a 0.5-ohm head as spare. Between them these coils are ready for vaping from 30W to 70W. Two extra O-rings are supplied to prevent leaks. Vapers pay about $20, so this would qualify as a reasonably priced tank but not dirt cheap.

The Eleaf iStick Pico Kit

The iStick Pico is a 75W box mod with bottom-mounted up and down switches, an OLED screen, rounded sides, and several modes. One is variable wattage; the others are all related to TC vaping. Select Titanium, Ni200, or stainless steel mode; low, moderate, or powerful TC vaping. This kit supplies vapers with the short Melo III mod tank, a USB coil for upgrading internal firmware, but is not supplied with a battery. This is removable for charging, so your vape set is always portable.
