The Firefly Portable herbal vaporizer is a popular device; a classy piece of workmanship and design. If you own version 1, you probably don`t see the need for a second version. Isn’t the first one good enough already?

The Old Firefly
For a few years now, vapers have been admiring their Firefly with its removable cover, porthole made of reinforced glass for looking at herbs as they burn, and its warming grilles. They have admired the shiny colors, short and sturdy stainless steel mouthpiece, removable battery with magnetic, replaceable battery cover.
The New Firefly
A Firefly 2, available in blue, gold, black, white, and red, maintains the best qualities and adds some more to the mix which bring the Firefly to a more tech-savvy audience. You still use a replaceable battery, and the porthole remains. Heat glows from the top, far from you fingers, so you still get that warm feeling on a chilly day, but get a load of the other features.
Single LED Light
A lot of manufacturers use a colored-light indicator as their means of communicating with vape users, usually when a device is hot enough or the battery must be recharged soon. The Firefly 2 requires just 5 seconds to reach 400F, maybe less, and when it’s hot enough the light turns green.
You don’t need a screen to display your temperature, and there’s no time to watch the numbers climb anyway. Choose one of 6 pre-set values: 340, 360, 380, 400, or 420F, plus a higher setting for concentrates. To do this you’ll need to activate another new feature of the Firefly; another reason you don’t need that display. Most people have one already in the form of a Smartphone.
Appreciate the App
With a new app, the Firefly can be customized to the vaper’s specifications in every way. Select a temperature. See where the battery level is at. Use the technology already at your fingertips.There is an information center available from the app on your phone: tap into this and find out if there are ways to enhance flavor or vapor production.
Since the Firefly 2 is small, it’s no problem taking both your phone and your herbal vaporizer wherever you go. Mobile technology gets better and better. One of the advantages of this technology is that you can’t accidentally activate anything on your Firefly 2 because there are no buttons. Another benefit is that there are no buttons to wear down; fewer parts which could cause you trouble down the road. Touchscreen technology does away with that trouble.
Small, Wireless Device
Even with a removable cell this is a little device measuring just 5.1 inches long. Slide it stealthily into a pocket of your skirt or messenger bag. No one will notice it there and even if they do, the Firefly 2 could be mistaken for some other portable gadget made from a Magnesium alloy that is super durable and surprisingly light; lighter and smaller than version one. This is one of the elements of the original people commented on: that it needed to slim down and drop an ounce or two. Designers certainly listened.
Battery Banter
Recharging your battery can be such a pain, but that’s not a problem with the Quickcharge AC adapter. Carefully slid your Firefly 2 into the dock provided and wait for charging to finish. When your battery finally dies in a year or so it can be removed.
Removable Parts
One of the finest and most fun features of the Firefly remains: its removable top portion. As long as it’s fully cool, you can safely touch this part and must do so in order to access your herb chamber. This is located under the top lid.
You will notice a trail known as the vapor path. Put top and bottom together and they enclose the vapor path. It’s such a simple but ingenious, low-tech feature. Not everything amazing about the Firefly involves circuits and technology.
Access this part to refill with finely ground herbs or concentrates, to empty these out, and to provide a regular cleaning service to your herbal vaping device. Don’t forget the mouthpiece made from BPA-free material. This removable piece contains a filter for particulates, so vapers need to clean those out from time to time.
