Innokin plans to release a new tank with temperature control (TC) compatibility in short order. Meanwhile, they hope users of the Disrupter, Arachnid, and MVP 3.0 60W will enjoy their lovely iSub Apex. This covered tank has many things going for it, though it’s not the all-purpose tank Innokin suggests it might be.
What’s Missing?
There are two things the iSub Apex needs to make it an all-purpose tank: an RBA head for DIY re-builds and a choice of TC coils. If Innokin were to add those two pieces to the puzzle (or three if they released both Nickel 200 and Titanium pre-built iSub Apex coils), they would have a truly multi-purpose product. One advantage of buying the Apex, however, is that it works with iSub coils which are easy to find and affordable just like the Apex itself.
Getting to Know the Innokin iSub Apex Sub-ohm Tank
Making tanks leak-proof has been a problem for designers but they seem to have gotten a handle on it. Most quality sub-ohm tanks are almost completely leak-proof, and Innokin manages this feat with their raised dual air intake valves. There is one at the base and another for the drip tip. Air is drawn in and down to create thick vapor clouds when you install a sub-ohm coil.
The iSub Apex is packaged with three possibilities from low to very low sub-ohm capacity. There is a 2-ohm option, the 0.5-ohm (great for mid-range vaporizers), and a 0.2-ohm coil, all of them made with Japanese organic cotton. The lowest of these is suitable for very high output.
Re-fill the tank using a solid spin top-fill system which prevents you having to turn your atomizer upside down. Stop spilling e liquid by using a top-fill tank like this one with its stainless steel frame and Pyrex glass tank.
Covered Tank
Instead of making a transparent tank, Innokin decided to create one with a large window. Stainless steel protects the glass but you can still see how much e juice is left in your 3-ml atomizer tank. A 3-ml tank is not especially large these days with 4, 5, and even 7-ml tanks out there. Then again, the iSub Apex is probably best suited to moderate output, meaning you will not be burning as much e juice as the 100W vaper.
Removable Mouth Piece
The Apex is a slim, slick, and modern piece of hardware you are going to like the look of. It goes with anything and adopts a long, slender appearance. The tall drip tip enhances its slim style but you can still take it off. Replace the tip to give your vaporizer system a bit of color or character. Like the atomizer itself, this part is highly compatible.
Considerable Compatibility
Innokin, like most manufacturers, made an atomizer you can attach to most box mods and sub-ohm tube mods. It is narrow enough to suit even a compact vaporizer like the iStick 30W. At around $20, it won’t hurt to buy one even if you only put it aside for emergencies, but its many fine qualities will entice you sooner or later.
