Is KOOPOR making a reference to Transformers with their ultra-powerful new Primus 300W TC Box Mod? If not, you could have fooled me.
Not only do they introduce a box mod with a new, industrial, look that has never been seen before; they give their device an iconic name.
It can’t be a coincidence, especially since they also give their new box mod the capacity to reach a phenomenal 300 watts.
Koopor Primus: 300 Watts of Power
Is this sort of power truly necessary? In what dimension is 200 watts and 600 fahrenheit not enough for a vaper? I guess we will find out when people start placing their pre-orders for this $100 device.
It takes three 18650 cells which the vaper has to purchase separately: that amounts to another $30+. Then you have to find a tank or RDA that’s got the mojo to handle this unit. An RDA or an RTA with an optional build deck would be sensible.
Tick Tock
At the top of the front face is a screen, designed to resemble a watch face against a band. It is not a clock, but even if it was, the display is digital, so it would not go “tick tock.” On the other hand, you have to remember how powerful a box mod like this really is.
With those three cells and 600F maximum heat, a negligent or mischievous vaper can do a lot of damage. Treat it with respect. Not much has been written about the technology inside a KOOPOR Primus 300W TC Box Mod yet, but we can expect a unit of this cost and potential to be protected by short-circuit protection and others.
I imagine it to have reverse-battery protection, defense against overheating and overcharging, and the usual team of safety features. The base features several vent holes which help to let out heat. Don’t cover it up.
Screen Scene
The screen is at the top, quite large, and the featured value is very large, easy to read. It’s not a small device and the display is mounted at the front so there is more room than usual to make the numbers really visible. You will see the voltage, wattage, temperature, resistance, and battery power of your setup. I imagine KOOPOR’s device will support a minimum resistance of 0.1 ohms or even 0.05 ohms in Temperature Control mode.
Temperature Control Setting
When you want to use temperature-sensitive coils, you can set your mod up in one of the TC settings. KOOPOR’s mod supports Nickel 200, 316 Stainless Steel, or Titanium coils. There are three buttons: one circular button on the top left side and two very small ones mounted vertically left of the screen. You can also use the device as a variable wattage vaporizer.
Aesthetic Item
If you’re into metal, the KOOPOR Primus 300W TC Box Mod is very metallic. It’s industrial and heavy. The front could even remind you of a cheese grater. The screen appears to be the face of a watch with a welded strap the same color as the whole mod.
More Elements of KOOPOR’s Mod
Next to those little holes at the base there is a USB port for attaching a cord between the mod and computer. You probably would not want to charge a box mod that way if you don’t have to and taking them out is easy, thanks to a magnetic door and removable batteries.
They also charge more quickly that way. You need the USB charger for installing firmware updates. As KOOPOR introduces more features, enhancing safety, accuracy, or efficiency, you can download the firmware with that simple cable.
The USB port is, unfortunately, mounted at the bottom. It’s very close to the lip, but still at the bottom, but since you only use it for updates, it’s not a big deal. You won’t be recharging and vaping with a tank attached, eager to keep the unit upright when you take a break from puffing.
