I couldn’t believe what I was hearing; that the MarsTeam Japan Yokozuna is a sub ohm vape tank. I thought this would be part of the space race, but was not even sure if Japan had its own space program.
Apparently, there are Japanese astronauts but no plans to build ships. Meanwhile, I was barking up the wrong tree anyway when what I should have been looking for was a NASA-quality design made for vape mods.
Japanese Design
Most sub ohm devices are designed in China or the USA. Seeing a Japanese design makes for a real change and also sets the consumer up for some expectations. Japanese art is known for its minimalism. Their technology is exceptional. Cleanliness is important and so is a natural effect. Expect Japanese designers to put everything into R&D without sacrificing the tech-side either. You won’t be disappointed with the MarsTeam Japan Yokozuna tank.
Elegant Elements
This tank provides a small footprint and is made to fit with mid-watt devices around the 40W or 50W mark, maximum. You could still use it at a higher level, but in tests this is where it performs best.
Many designers these days get carried away with stainless steel, creating metal-heavy, bulky, even stocky-looking units. This tank from Yokozuna favors the glass portion of the format, choosing a light, clean look that will please those who enjoy a simple aesthetic. Caps are still made from stainless steel, just less of it, and not anodized colors.
Special Features
Look for the angled chimney which funnels e juice in such a way as to prevent the spit-back effect. A vertical coil enhances juice-to-element contact in order to create more vapor. Yokozuna innovates while capturing the beauty of their idea crisply.
Small Tank
Capacity is just 2.5 ml yet this sub ohm rebuildable tank employs the bottom-fill method. This is best for coil saturation but hard on heavy vapers as it requires regular disassembling of the tank. I guess Yokozuna doesn’t flinch from making a difficult choice in order to maintain their compact design without sacrificing flavor or performance in any way.
Coil Options
The MarsTeam tank is packaged with two types of coils structure: 0.8-ohm and 0.3-ohm Variable Watt Kanthal with triple-stacked wicking for 15W to 50W between them. The three wick holes are visible through the glass, stacked from smallest to largest. Resistance and airflow control will affect vapor production. Make adjustments using two slots on this 2.5-ml, 22-mm sub ohm tank. This tank deserves an excellent mod.
Topping It Off
At the top you will see a stainless steel mouthpiece. This clean piece can be removed and replaced with a 510-threaded alternative of a differing shape or style, but its width is suited to releasing optimum cloud coverage from high-vegetable glycerin juice at 50W.
Also by Yokozuna
MarsTeam also makes a limited edition RDA called the Thruster. This design retains a triple-post rebuild deck. Use with mid-watt vaporizers of 50W or so. Cut-outs in the top provide airflow and you get two caps with the package. Wider than the item above, this is a 24.5-mm device of curvy, clean metal.
Each one is serialized, so you know this is the real thing, not a cheap clone. The Thruster RDA is a $70 item but the RBA costs around $40, so neither one is a budget model. They’re for collectors with an eye for beauty, form, and something unusual.
