Someone in the OBS Research and Design Department is either into aliens and UFOs or just loves sci-fi. On one portion of this large tank there is the iconic image of an egg-shaped Martian head, point down, almond-shaped eyes filled in to remain dark and mysterious.
This is the stereotypical alien outline people always think of. OBS is a little bit mysterious too, but they come from Shenzhen in China, a highly recognizable name in the vaping business, so there is nothing alien about their origins.
OBS T-VCT Sub Ohm Tank
Will this spaceship fly? Of course not, but it’s good for vaping at up to 50 watts with 0.2-ohm or 0.5-ohm coils or you can install an RBA and use this with temperature control devices like the Mini Book by Sigelei or an eVic VTC Mini by Joyetech. They also use organic cotton for the health of vapers and the environment.
Organic cotton produces the best tasting vapor too, so always replace cotton in your RBA with the Japanese organic variety. So far, customer reviews are consistently favourable, but it’s not one of the cheapest tanks. Let’s say this is in the mid-range at roughly $30 with the Tobeco Super Tank on one side and SMOK’s TFV4 on the other.
Dubious Design Distinctions
For the etching described above to feature at all, there must be a sleeve, a fact you guessed already. On opposite sides vapers will find two large windows formed by the hardened glass tube. The two other opposite sides are portions of stainless steel sleeve which boast that odd image on one side and “OBS” on the other in double-layered Disco style.
That’s right: weren’t movies about aliens big in the 70s and early 80s, just like Saturday Night Fever? Select a white, stainless, or black finish sans sequins which would have completed the look.
Top-fill Style
Refill e juice from the top so you don’t drip as much or have to remove the tank from the mod where it belongs. This could be a regular event otherwise because e juice, vaped at high temperatures, tends to disappear rather quickly. The drip tip is relatively narrow but still wide by eGo standards; a 510-threaded item you can remove and clean or replace with your own style of mouthpiece.
A Huge Tank
Many rebuildable tanks for sub ohm vaping measure 3.5 ml or 4 ml, so it is unusual for an RBA to hold up to 6 ml: that’s a lot of vape liquid. You won’t have to refill for a long time, especially if your wattage is around the 10W to 35W mark with 0.5-ohm coils installed in the Variable Watt setting. The OBS T-VCT Sub Ohm Tank features airflow adjustment in the bottom cap of your 22-mm tank to accommodate mouth or lung vaping as you prefer. They use dual slots measuring 10 mm x 2 mm.
Life of Your Tank
OBS highlights a fact that I have not seen elsewhere in product descriptions online although it is probably noted in the manuals for coils and tanks, perhaps in the small print. They tell consumers not to mix flavors because the coil could become the victim of a chemical reaction. It’s bound to last longer if you stick with one flavor at a time, so don’t become ambitious unless you like replacing coils more frequently.
