Think Vape’s aluminum box mod, the Panzer Box 200, takes on an unusual appearance with its rubberized parts, like a piece of tactical equipment someone in the military would expect to drop in the heat of the moment. It is not industrial exactly or particularly sporty: durable-looking would be a better term, like the military tank from which this product takes its name.
Features of the Panzer Box DNA 200 Mod
By now everyone knows about Evolv’s DNA chipset and the 200 version that’s found in several mods. The Panzer is one such device. It runs on the power of a pre-installed 4500mAh Lithium Polymer battery, but the DNA 200 is really behind everything that makes this a great device.
That includes precise wattage variation starting at 1W and rising to 200W. Set a temperature and the mod will choose wattage output in order to get you up to 600F according to your preference.
Color Combinations
The Panzer is available in black, white, or red. Panels on the white mod put me in mind of Storm Troopers which might or might not be on purpose. Star Wars gets into the modern subconscious in all sorts of ways.
Try to Resist
The DNA chipset is capable of a big resistance variation. With your mod set to a temperature and an atomizer installed with TC coils, your lowest resistance is potentially 0.08 ohms. With a Kanthal coil in its place, operating in variable wattage function, your highest resistance is 2 ohms.
Big Screen
One of the most difficult parts about designing, building, or using a variable watt/temperature control mod is that the screen can only be so big. This part is often terribly small and, though bright and sharp, is still an inconvenience for people whose eyes are bad or just tired.
The big OLED display seen here is a breath of fresh air. It is also protected by the design itself. Rubberized portions extend beyond the screen causing it to sink in a little.
If the box were to land control-side down on a relatively flat surface, nothing would happen to that screen which displays watts, volts, resistance, temperature, and the charge remaining for your built-in battery. The Panzer’s screen also sends warnings about low voltage, low resistance, etc.
Recharge the Cell
The Panzer Box DNA 200 by Think Vape is constructed with a USB port under the up/down buttons. Use this for two purposes: to recharge the cell with the cord provided and a USB adapter; and upgrade Evolv’s DNA firmware as new features become available.
Spring-loaded for Action
Only a very special tank is going to look good atop this unusual box mod. It will have to be capable of accommodating TC coils and handling the demands of vaping at 200W.
Aesthetically, what could possibly complement this device? You are probably going to need a product with a rebuild deck like the SMOK TFV4 or the Toptank Mini by Kanger. At least Kanger makes tanks in assorted colors which will coordinate with the Panzer DNA 200. SMOK’s TFV4, however, is among the most versatile with a huge list of pre-built coils. Consider a Horizon Arctic V8, also with many coil builds, or an RDA like the Sapor sold in black with steel accents.
