Here is a starter kit for advanced vapers from the maker of your favorite Bluetooth-compatible mods and one of the top atomizer tanks.
The SMOK Micro One Starter Kit comes with an 80W TC (temperature control) vape mod and the Micro TFV4 (a small version of that tank I mentioned). Let’s take a closer look.

Built-in Battery
The SMOK R80 80W mod is already set up with a 4000-mAh battery so you won’t be taking a cell out, putting in a new one, potentially losing the battery or the back, etc. All you need to do is keep a USB cable handy at your laptop. Recharge the battery at your computer and pull out another mod while you wait: an EVOD or an eGo One, for example.
Temperature Control Supported
You can set your mod for Variable Watt usage or switch to Temperature Control mode if you are using temperature-sensitive coils. Those would either be Ni200 or Titanium if you haven’t already heard.
A bright OLED display shows you the value of your atomizer coil’s resistance if you are not quite sure about your build. Also, use this monitor to check that the contents of your coil heads were accurately labeled.
Read Values
The display on your machine, controlled by a PCB, also depicts wattage, voltage, temperature, and the current charge of your battery. SMOK’s screen is situated between buttons along one side and although it is narrow and deeply in-set (prone to shadows too), this protects the screen from cracking if you are a little hard on your machines.
Controlling Vapor
The display is mid-way between three buttons. The first is a large on/off button which is also used for setting your mode. Beneath the screen sit two smaller buttons for adjusting temperature or wattage to higher or lower settings. The USB port has been built into the very base next to air vents.
If you like to sit your mod upright when it recharges, with a tank still containing e juice attached, you will have to think again. The tank is going to come off, but that’s a simple matter of twisting and threads are high-quality. The SMOK R80 TC also keeps track of your puff count so you can determine how long a certain amount of e juice lasts. Record these details at intervals to check for efficiency.
Simple Shape
The slender, lightly rounded shape of an R80 somehow defies a box-like description and has more in common with a flask or the control box for a remote control car. You get several color choices too, producing a soft or metallic effect depending on preference.
Micro TFV4 Tank
Smok’s TFV4 sub ohm atomizer tank in regular size is among the best RTA tanks you can buy. It is so versatile you can attach it to most of the available mods out there, and some people say it’s the last tank you will ever have to buy. Their smaller version was built for up to 60 watts of usage with the Clapton Core if you choose to use that.
Its smaller size is also more compatible with compact devices like the R80 than the larger version. You can switch the Clapton coil heads for TC coils and ramp up to the full 80 watts. Fill it to 2.5 ml or add the 3.5-ml extension piece (part of the kit).
The SMOK R80’s spring loaded pin accommodates the Micro TFV4 smoothly but also makes it possible to replace this in favor of a different look or style of tank. A 22-mm-wide profile makes the Micro perfect for other compact vape mods too. Experience the joys of clean, thick vapor with airflow you control and a dual quad core system. E juice is dripped in from the top: just pivot on the hinge.
Protective System
The PCB (control chip) on your R80 TC mod protects both devices and the user against accidents occurring when resistance is too high or too low, voltage reaches extremes, or heat gets out of control.
