Semeiyue’s latest kit is the SMY 75W Mini Kit featuring variable wattage and temperature control. It’s an attractive little unit with an unusual battery closure design which looks as though it would feel just right in your hand.

This vape box is fitted with an SMY tank: The Star. An SMY Kit contains this sub ohm tank which is compatible with the many features of Semeiyue’s design. It can handle the high temperatures and the 75W output or lower values if you are feeling low-key. The shell comes in red, black, or silver with silver accents, including the control panel.

On the Other Side

While one side is rounded like a cylinder, the other side is shaped like the edge of a rectangular box. Look at it from one angle and the SMY 75W might be a boxy sort of mod, but turn it around and there’s that ergonomic element you love.

The squared-off side is also where controls are set. Really it’s the magnetic battery door, however, which is bound to earn the box so much attention. There are many similar devices out there with screens and variable settings, etc., so any little feature of note is desirable in a vape mod design. It couldn’t be any easier than this to swap batteries.

Control Panel

A lip jutting out at the top, below the threading well, provides potential protection for a big screen set underneath the power button. This lip and the raised button would prevent the screen from ever landing flat against a hard surface and smashing if you dropped it unless by some terrible fluke.

The bottom edge is rounded but doesn’t feature a lip. Two small buttons for choosing higher or lower watts/temperature have been added beneath the screen and below these there is a USB port. Although you will probably prefer to swap the battery and recharge it outside of the box rather than connecting to a laptop, the USB could also be there for upgrading firmware.

What the Box Offers

There are smaller mods, but most of them also supply a lower wattage rating. This one is 81 mm long and weighs only a quarter of a kilogram without the battery installed. It’s made from a brushed zinc alloy, one reason for its lightness. It’s portable, compact, and inexpensive; nothing out of the ordinary though.

The Star Tank

SMY’s Star is a rebuildable tank with replaceable coil heads. Measuring 51 mm x 22 mm, it’s very short, but you only have a 2-ml capacity here. Compatible coils include 0.3-ohm stainless steel for VW vaping and 0.15-ohm Ni200.

Operate the mod in either of these modes or select Titanium. The minimum resistance as far as your device is concerned is 0.1 ohms, so there could be other coils options for the Star. E juice inlets form a constellation and are, in fact, referred to as a constellation-style inlet. Numerous holes increase coil saturation and how much vapor you are likely to produce.

Vapor Range

Set the SMY 75W between 1W and 75W. Choose a temperature in Celsius or Fahrenheit from 100C to 315C/200F to 600F. That is the standard variation as far as TC mods are concerned, as established by the internal chip which controls most of these mods made in China. You can read everything on the large and crisp screen: output in Fahrenheit or Celsius, watts, volts, and resistance in ohms.

Contents of the SMY 75W Mini Kit

Each shipment contains the body of your mod but no battery: purchase a reliable 18650-series battery separately. The tank is included with a 0.3-ohm coil and the 0.15-ohm Ni200 as a spare. SMY sends a USB charger and a manual with the device, written in English. It also arrives with proof of authenticity so you know this is the real deal; a Semeiyue original, not a clone.
