I have not heard a lot about Modvapa and their products are not listed by too many major online vaping stores, at least not as far as I can see. Those who are writing about the tank say it is not in stores yet, but that has never stopped a store from advertising an item for pre-sale if they like it.

That’s why I am a little hesitant about the Modvapa Panda V12 Sub Ohm Tank. No matter what experts say, you need to always be cautious about the unknown in an unregulated industry.

Top-fill Tank

The Modvapa Panda V12 fills from the top, a common feature in this category of RBAs. Since high-watt and high-temperature control vaping causes e juice to vaporize quickly, consumers tend to do a lot of refilling which puts additional pressure on threads as they are undone and re-done for the well and atomizer bottom cap.

This also means more work for vapers. They can deal with this problem of using up juice too quickly by buying big tanks like the Ceravape Soter measuring 8 ml (but also a top-fill tank) or they can just buy an item with top-fill capacity and stop going to so much trouble.

Easy Replacement of Coils

As for coils, they can only come out one way, but that’s not a daily thing anyway. The Modvapa Panda V12 uses a vertical coil in order to create lots of rich, thick vapor. It’s constructed with organic cotton, the purest sort of material around. When you purchase non-organic cotton and vape with it at high temperatures, tests have shown that it releases something dark into your lungs; chemicals perhaps, or just dirt.

The coils have proven exceptional, demonstrating that these parts are not the same from model to model. There are a few options: 0.5-ohm, 1.2-ohm, Clapton 0.5-ohm, 0.6-ohm, and 1-ohm coils. These are available for vaping between 30 watts (0.5-ohm, 1.2-ohm, and 1-ohm) to 160W, so if you operate a high-watt system this is a potential winner. Read other vapers’ experience of using the various coils listed here and the wattage which seems to work best for producing flavor and clouds.

Customize and Control

Airflow is controlled using two valves turning 90 degrees each. This provides accuracy and symmetry. Texturing in the bottom cap is also designed to provide grip so the caps are easy to twist and valves are easy to operate. A chimney at the base which can be locked allows the vaper to shut juice out during a coil change and stop the tank from leaking all over his fingers and table.

Top Part

At the top, you see three filling holes — big ones — so it would be a shame if you spilled. With proper dripping bottles with narrow tops, you won’t miss while filling the Panda with up to 4 ml of e juice. Caps measure 22 mm wide and the length, top to bottom, is a notch over 70 mm.

Material Considerations

The Panda tube is made from Pyrex glass, reinforced to take a few knocks that regular glass can’t handle. Don’t see that as an invitation to drop your tank from a second-storey window however. Caps are constructed out of 304 stainless steel, a top alloy coveted for its tendency not to rust and its durability.
