Tesla built a mod that was designed to hug a tank close using a console with two supportive rings. This tank is the Shadow, straight and clean, and built for rebuildable and customizable performance. Experienced mod users: here is another classy RBA for your collection.
Teslacigs Shadow Coil
The Shadow tank comes with a 0.28-ohm coil built in. You can vape at about 60W with that sort of build, so it is suitable for a mid-range setup. The Teslacigs Shadow also comes with a 0.6-ohm coil (referred to as the Shadow coil) for use at up to 50W. The best range for this RBA, then, is around 20 watts to 60 watts which makes it a good pairing for the Stealth mod, iStick devices in the lower range, the MVP Pro, and many others.
Shadow Build
The stealthy measurements of this Tesla RBA are 22 x 64 mm. The higher figure could create a tall presentation on most devices, but Tesla has the answer with their Stealth mod. Buy the kit and learn how ingenious the designers at Teslacigs really are.
Their atomizer connection is built into a console sitting lower than the top part of their black vaporizer. Only the mouthpiece sticks up above the device which is perfect, protective, and compact.
A few other mods would probably fit inside console without sticking up too high or being too low in the final measurement. Their width would be alright too. What you find with pairings of this kind, however, is that if two items were made for each other their fit is the best fit.
Shadow Features
Airflow is provided by two adjustable holes built into the base, not the most sophisticated of systems. I would guess that mouth-to-lung vapers are most likely to get full satisfaction out of this airflow control design. The top of a Shadow tank is removable for filling e juice without dismantling a vape system.
A glass tube holds up to 3.5 ml of e juice, generous given that you can refill without removing the tank from its Stealth partnership. Their no-leak design is a relief to vapers constantly washing sticky e juice off of their hands, their clothes, and surfaces.
Stylistic Shadow
Tesla could have stopped at making a fully functional Rebuildable Atomizer, which the Shadow is, but they also offer something stylish to the vaping community. Their plain glass tank gains a teasing splash of color from red O-rings, three of which are supplied with the kit.
There are two colors available for the top and bottom caps: black or stainless steel. These contrast crisply with the red O-rings, but if you select stainless steel you can add another point of contrast with the black mouthpiece.
This tall item is always black because Teslacigs selected Delrin as an insulator. This is meant to protect vapers from the heat of their VW or TC vapor. Any way you look at it, the Teslacigs Shadow cuts a fine figure.
Wrap Up
I would recommend the Tesla Shadow as part of the Stealth Kit especially since there’s nothing really like it out there.
The Wismec Reuleaux RX75 Kit is probably closest in terms of design, and either one would make a good buy. Tesla is a proven, trusted brand of advanced mod for experienced cloud chasers.
