This is another new release from SMOK and a take-off on their SMOK Stick One. The SMOK Nano One mod uses that same eGo Cloud battery, only reduced in size, plus a smaller version of the TFV4 Tank.
We will take a closer look at the kit below, but as an aside vapers should know: this is a good brand. If you are weighing up two products and one is a SMOK, you can expect quality from these Chinese manufacturers.
The Nano TFV4 Tank
In the scientific world, the prefix “nano” refers to something really tiny. In the technological world this is a prefix for a minuscule version of something recognizable in larger form. The Nano TFV4 Tank features many of the elements of a Mini or full-sized TFV4 atomizer tank but in much smaller form.
Dimensions are 57 mm high and 19 mm wide, so it’s ideal for a small tube mod (the SUBVOD is another example). It only holds 4 ml of e juice which isn’t much, but top-fill capacity makes up for reduced volume.
SMOK R-Steam Mini
The base is a fully contained battery with 2200mAh capacity, also 19 mm wide, but 70 mm long for a total of 127 mm in length when the two parts are fitted together. That is not very long unless you are used to eGos and mini cigs. In the mod world this is considered stealthy and convenient sizing.
Charge the R-Steam
Since your 2200mAh cell is built in, you have to use a micro-USB port and cable to recharge it at a laptop. Alternatively, vapers could run the cable to your car charger, an Innokin iTaste MVP 3.0 Pro, or your gaming device.
It takes a short while to recharge which could be long enough to cause frustration, but the key is to top it up overnight rather than using any remaining charge the following day and running out halfway through the morning.
It has a 510 threading connector too, so if you wanted to try the R-Steam with a TOPTANK Nano by Kanger that would be fine; the two would also fit easily together. Kanger makes some lovely colors which might suit your setup. You can also attach a 22-mm tank like the SMOK TFV4 Mini rebuildable tank atomizer or another sub ohm atomizer, but it will look funny.
Final Figures
The SMOK Nano One made from stainless steel is silver in color. It is a sub ohm unit with high wattage output but not variable settings. Those are only altered by selecting a particular resistance for your atomizer coil.
The kit also contains a 0.3-ohm Fused Clapton Dual Coil pre-built head and a 0.25-ohm stainless steel Dual Core alternative. A vape bank, dust cap, and USB charging cable are supplied. That dust cap made from silicone comes in 3 shades and prevents debris from getting into your mouthpiece.
The two-layered drip tip atop your Nano tank will prevent burns to sensitive lips and also prevent heat loss. Your mod will reach about 60 watts, max. Both coils and the drip tip are replaceable with separate pieces sold by participating companies (online stores and your local vape store).
Safeguards for Vapers and their Equipment
Trust China’s SMOK manufacturing to protect vapers from the dangers of a short circuit, low voltage, or low resistance which can cause overheating or malfunction. An overheating device could explode if a device doesn’t have the “smart” technology to reduce its temperature automatically. Protection is built into this unit.
Also, vapers press the button several times quickly to turn it on and off which prevents it from firing on its own. An LED light helpfully changes color to indicate when the device is on or off and its charge level. When you see the red light, this means the SMOK Nano One is still charging. When that light goes out, charging is complete. The process doesn’t take long.
